Choosing Supplies For Button Rings
Let's talk about the adjustable rings used for my button rings. The rings have a flat, circular top that allows you to add your items to them. I saw someone use them at a recent event, and I knew I could put my own twist on it. The roses I bought are round and sit center on the ring. The just sit there looking beautiful! The pop of color makes me happy.
"Jewelry is the ultimate self-expression, a way to tell your story; it's a conversation you are having with the world without saying a word." - Jessica Richards.
How To Make Button Rings
After opening the adjustable rings and choosing the button I was going to use, I got to work removing the button loop (tab) on the back of the roses (See picture below)
I added glue to the top of the adjustable ring
Then I added the white button to the top of the ring
I added glue to the top of the white button
I then selected a rose and put it on top of the white button
Let dry for at least 4 hours
Choosing The Right Button Is Important
Make sure your buttons will sit flat on top of each other.
Keep in mind when choosing buttons the more the button hangs off or over the ring there is more of a chance your ring will get caught on things. I try to build up instead of out. I recently purchased one with a green gummy bear on top of it. It was cute, but the gummy bear kept getting caught on everything. With that being said I do have some that hang off the ring base. I am happy to report the glue has kept everything in place. Absolutely nothing has budged or fallen off.
In addition to the roses, I have used monkeys, bees, and smiley face buttons. All have turned out adorable!
