Create a Cute Christmas Wreath Without Using Ribbon: Step-by-Step Guide

My last DIY project was to create a cute Christmas wreath without using ribbon. If you are like me and don't use many bows and ribbons in your crafts, this might be just the wreath project for you. I think it is just adorable!

A Cute Christmas Wreath Without Using Ribbon-With a Jumbo Plastic Santa Ornament Hanging From The Middle of the Flocked Wreath. The wreath has a train, north pole post office box and two presents wrapped in red velvet attached to the wreath.

One thing I love about this creation is you can get any kind of wreath and attach whatever you want to it. There is no glue, so you could make one for each season or holiday. The possibilities are truly endless.

This project is fun, easy, and not expensive. That makes it a win win in my book.

Cute Christmas Wreath Without Using Ribbon Supply List

  1. One 24 inch flocked wreath from Walmart (The one I used is linked HERE)

  2. One jumbo plastic Santa ornament from Walmart (The one I used is linked HERE)

  3. Two red velvet wrapped present ornaments from Walmart (The one I used is linked HERE)

  4. One retro, green, plastic train ornament from Walmart (The one I used is linked HERE)

  5. One white, metal, Merry Christmas ornament sign from Walmart

  6. One metal north pole post ornament from Walmart

  7. 1 pack of green ornament hooks

How To Create A Cute Christmas Wreath Without Using Ribbon

This is so quick and easy.

  1. Arrange the smaller ornaments on the wreath in an arrangement you like. For mine I put the red velvet wrapped ornaments on opposite sides of the wreath

  2. Remove the existing hangers on the ornaments

  3. Attach the ornaments using the green, metal ornament hangers by twisting one end of the ornament hanger to the ornament and twisting the other end of the ornament hanger around the metal on the back of the wreath

  4. Remove the existing hanger from the jumbo Santa ornament and attach a metal hanger to it.

  5. Attach the jumbo Santa ornament to the middle of the wreath by twisting one end of the metal hanger to the jumbo Santa ornament and twisting the other end of the hanger to the metal on the back of the wreath.

  6. Once everything is securely attached fluff the wreath and straighten the ornaments to your liking.

“Christmas is the spirit of giving without a thought of getting. It is happiness because we see joy in people. It is forgetting self and finding time for others. It’s discarding the meaningless and stressing the true values.” – Thomas S. Monson

How To Hang Your Cute Christmas Wreath Without Using Ribbon

I purchased a wreath door hanger from Walmart to hang mine on the door of my office. Although this wreath is not necessarily heavy, I would be cautious about hanging it from a wreath hanger from Dollar Tree. It may work fine, and, if you already have one from Dollar Tree, then go for it!

A Couple Other Ideas To Use To Create A Cute Christmas Wreath Without Using Ribbon

  • A wreath for your kitchen with mini rolling pins from Hobby Lobby. You could stain or paint the rolling pins. (You can find a link to the HERE.) On that same wreath you could attach some cookie cutters, Gingerbread cookie ornaments, or cupcakes or cake ornaments.

  • A wreath displaying someone's favorite sports team on it. The Walmart near me had ornaments for my state's college and pro teams. Dollar General also carries items for our college and pro teams. I haven't seen ornaments at Dollar General, but they have other items you could attach to a sports themed wreath.
